Non woven fabric is currently popular, and many people who purchase non-woven fabric do not know how to identify it. In fact, based on the different chemical compositions and combustion characteristics of non-woven fabric fibers, the major categories of aluminum coated non-woven fabric fibers can be roughly distinguished. The comparison of combustion characteristics of several common non-woven fibers is introduced as follows:

1. Polypropylene fiber: close to flame: melt shrink; Contact with flames: melting, burning; Leaving the flame: continuing to burn; Odor: Paraffin odor; Residual characteristics: Grey white hard transparent round beads.

2. Cotton, hemp, viscose fiber, copper ammonia fiber: close to the flame: does not shrink or melt; Contact with flames: rapid combustion; Leaving the flame: continuing to burn; Odor: The smell of burning paper; Residual characteristics: A small amount of gray black or gray white ash.

3. Spandex fiber: close to flame: melt shrink; Contact with flames: melting, burning; Leaving the flames: self extinguishing; Odor: distinctive odor; Residual characteristics: white gel like.

4. Silkworm fiber: close to flames: curled and melted; Contact with flames: curling, melting, burning; Leaving the flame: slow burning, sometimes self extinguishing; Odor: the smell of burnt hair; Residual characteristics: Loose and brittle black particles or coke like.

5. Polyester fiber: close to flame: melt shrink; Contact with flames: melting, smoking, slow burning; Leaving the flame: continuing to burn, sometimes extinguishing on its own; Odor: Special aromatic sweetness; Residual characteristics: Hard black round beads.

6. Vinylon fiber: close to flame: melt shrink; Contact with flames: melting, burning; Leaving the flames: continuing to burn, emitting black smoke; Odor: Unique aroma; Residual characteristics: Irregular burnt tea colored hard lumps.

7. Nylon fiber: close to flame: melt shrink; Contact with flames: melting, smoking; Leaving the flames: self extinguishing; Odor: Amino odor; Residual characteristics: Hard, light brown, transparent round beads.

8. Acrylic fiber: close to flame: melt shrink; Contact with flames: melting, smoking; Leaving the flames: continuing to burn, emitting black smoke; Odor: Spicy taste; Residual characteristics: Black irregular beads, fragile.

9. Chlorinated fiber: close to flame: melting shrinkage; Contact with flames: melting, burning, emitting black smoke; Leaving the flame: extinguishing it on its own; Odor: pungent odor; Residual characteristics: Dark brown hard lumps.
