
Introduction to Various Common Properties of PP Non woven Fabric
(1) Physical properties: PP non-woven fabric is a non-toxic, odorless, milky white high crystalline polymer, which is currently one of the lighter varieties among all plastics. It is particularly stable to water, with a water absorption rate of only 0.01% after 14 hours in water. The molecular weight is between 80000 and 150000, and the formability is good. However, due to the high shrinkage rate, the original wall products are prone to indentation, and the surface of the products has good gloss and is easy to color.
(2) Mechanical properties: PP non-woven fabric has high crystallinity and regular structure, thus possessing excellent mechanical properties. Its strength, hardness, and elasticity are all higher than high-density PE (HDPE). The outstanding feature is its resistance to bending fatigue (7 × 10 ^ 7), which allows for easy opening and closing without any damage marks. Its dry friction coefficient is similar to nylon, but it is not as good as nylon under oil lubrication.
(3) Thermal performance: PP non-woven fabric has good heat resistance, with a melting point of 164-170 ℃. The product can be disinfected and sterilized at temperatures above 100 ℃. Under no external force, it does not deform at 150 ℃. The embrittlement temperature is -35 ℃, and embrittlement occurs below -35 ℃. Its heat resistance is not as good as PE.
(4) Chemical stability: PP non-woven fabric has good chemical stability. In addition to being corroded by acids, it is relatively stable to various other chemical reagents. However, low molecular weight fatty hydrocarbons, aromatic hydrocarbons, etc. can soften and swell PP non-woven fabric. The chemical stability also increases with the increase of crystallinity. So, PP non-woven fabric is suitable for making Russian Chinese chemical pipelines and fittings, with good anti-corrosion effect.
(5) Electrical performance: Non woven fabric has excellent high-frequency insulation performance. Due to its almost no water absorption, its insulation performance is not affected by humidity. It has a high dielectric constant and can be used to make heated electrical insulation products with high breakdown voltage. It is suitable for use as electrical accessories, etc. Good resistance to voltage and arc, but high static electricity and easy aging when in contact with copper.
(6) Weather resistance: Non woven fabrics are highly sensitive to ultraviolet radiation. Adding zinc oxide thiopropionate dilaurate, carbon black like milky white fillers, etc. can improve their aging resistance.
