There is no unified national standard definition for the "tensile coefficient" of PP spunbond nonwoven fabric. The industry usually uses the breaking strength per unit width as the core tensile performance indicator. The tensile performance of conventional products is bound to weight and process strength. The specific benchmark data is as follows:
1、 Standard tensile strength of conventional civilian grade products
Product Weight Longitudinal (MD) Breaking Strength Transverse (CD) Breaking Strength
15gsm approximately 30N/5cm approximately 22N/5cm
25gsm (commonly used mask) ≥ 85N/5cm ≥ 72N/5cm
50gsm approximately 124N/5cm approximately 95N/5cm
The fracture elongation of conventional civilian models is generally in the range of 90% -100%, with excellent ductility and less susceptibility to brittle fracture.
2、 Mandatory national standard requirements for industrial grade geotextiles
A 150g specification of PP spunbond non-woven fabric specifically designed for water conservancy projects is required by national standards to have a longitudinal breaking strength of ≥ 9.0kN/m. Some high weight reinforced fabrics can exceed a tensile strength of 20kN/m, making them suitable for high-strength engineering scenarios such as slope protection and anti-seepage.
3、 Core feature description
PP spunbond non-woven fabric has a natural "anisotropy", with longitudinal fibers oriented and arranged along the direction of machine operation, and the tensile force is naturally greater than that in the transverse direction. By optimizing the cross laying process, the difference in longitudinal and transverse tensile forces can be controlled within 15%, meeting the high requirements for bidirectional force balance in medical automation production, high-speed sewing, and other scenarios.
It is recommended to clearly stipulate in the contract that the testing standard is GB/T 24218.3, and to indicate the longitudinal and transverse tensile strength indicators to avoid disputes due to differences in testing methods.
