Why is PP spunbond non-woven fabric considered an environmentally friendly material?

Spunbond non-woven fabric, also known as polypropylene spunbond non-woven fabric or polypropylene spunbond non-woven fabric, is a new generation of environmentally friendly materials with characteristics such as water repellency, breathability, flexibility, non combustible, non-toxic and non irritating, and rich colors.

If this material is placed outdoors and naturally decomposed, its longest lifespan is only 90 days. If placed indoors, it decomposes within 8 years. When burned, it is non-toxic, odorless, and has no residual substances, thus not polluting the environment. Therefore, environmental protection comes from this.

PP spunbond non-woven fabric is a type of non-woven fabric made from PP polypropylene as raw material, which is polymerized into a web through high-temperature drawing, and then bonded into a fabric by hot rolling method.

Due to its simple process flow, large output, and non-toxic and harmless to the human body. So it is widely used in various fields such as medical hygiene material non-woven fabric, agricultural non-woven fabric, industrial non-woven fabric, packaging material non-woven fabric, etc.

1. Polypropylene material

Polypropylene is a commonly used polymer in the spinning process, with main performance parameters including isotropy, melt index (MFI), and ash content.

The spinning process requires the isotropy of polypropylene to be above 95%. If it is below 90%, spinning will be difficult.

During the polymerization process, three different configurations of polymers can be produced due to the different positions of methyl groups in three-dimensional space.

Color: Normally according to the color card provided by the factory, special colors can also be made according to customer requirements (Pantone card can be made)

Pattern: Small hole patterns/Sesame dots/Cross patterns/Special patterns (Most of the patterns on the market are small hole patterns, Sesame dots are mostly used for sanitary materials, Cross patterns are used for shoe materials and packaging, and single line patterns are less common.)

2. Purpose:

Spunbond non-woven fabric is mainly used in medical sanitary materials, agricultural coverings, home textiles and household products, packaging materials, shopping bags and other fields. New products emerge constantly and have a wide range of applications.

17-100gsm (3% UV) for agricultural coverage

15-85gsm for home textile lining

40-120gsm for household items

50-120gsm is used for packaging materials

100-150gsm is used for blinds, car interiors, photography background fabrics, advertising fabrics, etc.
