What are the printing methods for non-woven bags?
1. Screen Print
Screen Print, the process also called silkscreen printing because silk was used in the process.
It is most traditional printing method that provide fast printing and flexible compare to others printing method. In routine life there are cardboard box, which is mostly use screen print.
Definition: Silkscreen Print refers to the use of silk screen as a plate base, and through the photosensitive plate making method, made into a Silkscreen Print plate with pictures and texts. When printing, pour ink on one end of the Silkscreen Print plate, use a squeegee to apply a certain pressure to the ink position on the Silkscreen Print plate, and at the same time move toward the other end of the Silkscreen Print plate at a uniform speed, the ink is moved by the squeegee from the image and text Part of the mesh is squeezed onto the substrate.
Limitation is it can only print solid colors and normally print 1 – 4 colors max.
Now the Silkscreen Print has developed from fully manual to semi-automatic and fully automatic. The “Roll to Roll” form Silkscreen Print also suitable for large scale print task.
2.Flexo printing
Flexography (often abbreviated to flexo) is a form of printing process which utilizes a flexible relief plate. This is the most reliable way to produce large orders of high-quality custom print at rapid speeds.
The advantages of flexo printing:
·Runs at extremely high speeds and is ideally suited for long printing runs
·Prints on a wide variety of substrate materials
·Short set-up times with a minimum of waste; guarantees high-quality output
· Eliminates the need for additional work and cost: printing, varnishing, laminating and die cutting can be done in a single pass
·A relatively straightforward and controlled printing process that requires less-trained operators to achieve the desired output
·Low cost of equipment and maintenance
The disadvantages of flexo printing:
·The price of flexo printing plates is relatively high compared to other types of plates, but they last for millions of impressions if they are properly cared for.
·Version changes are time-consuming to make
3. Thermal transfer
Thermal transfer is a special type of printing in printing! This method requires an intermediate medium, that is, first print the graphics on the thermal transfer film or thermal transfer paper, and then transfer the pattern to the non-woven fabric by heating the transfer equipment. The commonly used medium in textile printing is thermal transfer film. Its advantages are: exquisite printing, rich layers, comparable to photos. Suitable for small area color image printing. The disadvantage is that the printed pattern is easy to fall off over a long period of time and is expensive.
